TaylorMade RAC TP Forged Irons
With the RAC TP Forged Irons, TaylorMade established themselves as one of the front runners in the golf club industry. With a muscle cavity design, the TP irons have all the power and feel of a blade but with a little bit more forgiveness. However, despite it's slight cavity, no one would ever call the TPs a forgiving set of irons. For that reason, they're especially geared towards the better player.
Forged from S25c carbon steel to give the iron a superb feel, the TPs have even more features that make them a "players iron", such as their thin topline, reduced offset, and cambered sole. Also, the CG (center of gravity) is higher than that of typical game improvement clubs, but still slightly lower than standard players irons.
All of these features combine to make a set of irons that is consistent, accurate, and playable on all types of lies, comparable to irons made by Ben Hogan or Mizuno. While average golfers may not enjoy using the TPs because of their low center of gravity and little forgiveness, better players enjoy the feel and workability of them.
Also, another feature that better players prefer is the classic appearance these clubs offer. They feature a True Temper Dynamic Gold Steel shaft for an excellent solid feel and a Golf Pride Tour velvet grip. And they have a handsome chrome finish to highlight the supreme craftsmanship of the club.
On the whole, the TaylorMade RAC TP Forged Irons are a great set of irons for the experienced player who can get by with minimal forgiveness.
